Bengüsu Özcan is a co-founder of AI Safety Türkiye, Türkiye's first civil-society AI safety community, which she co-founded in 2023 with Berke Çelik. She holds an Advanced AI Researcher role at the Centre for Future Generations (CFG), a Brussels-based research and policy institution, and facilitates AI Governance courses for both BlueDot Impact and AI Safety Türkiye. Her educational background spans industrial engineering and psychology (BS, Sabancı University) and quantitative methods in social sciences (MA, Columbia University), where her thesis addressed user perceptions of recommendation algorithms. Her policy work on compute governance has been featured in the context of the G7 summit.
