Nigerian social entrepreneur and Executive Director of Paradigm Initiative, the pan-African digital-rights and digital-inclusion organisation he founded in Lagos in 2007 and which now operates out of six sub-regional offices (Cameroon, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, Zambia, Zimbabwe) with interventions across more than twenty-seven African countries. Born 'Oluwagbenga Olabisi Sesan on 27 July 1977 in Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria, Sesan trained as an Electronic and Electrical Engineer at Obafemi Awolowo University (2002) and completed executive education programmes at Lagos Business School, Oxford University, Harvard University, Stanford University, INSEAD, and King's College London. He was named a 2007 Ashoka Fellow, the 2014 Schwab Foundation Social Entrepreneur of the Year, an Archbishop Desmond Tutu Leadership Fellow, and recognised in 2012 as one of CNN's "10 Leading African Tech Voices" on Twitter and one of Ventures Africa's "40 African Legends Under 40".

Sesan's parallel institutional roles route African civil-society digital-rights and AI positions into the multilateral institutions where global AI rules are increasingly being negotiated. He was appointed in 2022 to the UN Secretary-General's inaugural Internet Governance Forum (IGF) Leadership Panel and serves on the International Panel on the Information Environment launched at the 2023 Nobel Prize Summit.
