Transmedia artist, educator, and Yayoi Kusama Professor of Art at Stony Brook University, where she founded the Future Histories Studio — a community-centered lab at the intersections of art, technology, race, storytelling, and social justice. Not the Only One — ongoing multigenerational AI chatbot trained on oral histories from three generations of Dinkins's Black American family, designed to give AI cultural roots, deep history, and a Black-community perspective absent from mainstream AI training data.
