Tania Rodríguez (age 54 as of 2026) is a founding member and principal public voice of MOSACAT — the Movimiento Socioambiental Comunal por la Tierra y el Agua — based in the Cerrillos commune of Santiago, Chile. A former school teacher, she became the group's most visible organiser during its successful campaign against Google's proposed second Chilean data centre in Cerrillos, which was authorised to extract more than seven billion litres of water annually from a drought-stressed metropolitan commune.
Rodríguez characterises data-centre expansion as a form of "digital extractivism" and has articulated MOSACAT's position in two recurring public framings: "We end up being everybody's backyard" and "We're not against Big Tech, but in favor of nature. We don't want our countries to get steamrolled by extractivism". In September 2024 she was named to TIME100 AI 2024 — Time magazine's annual list of the 100 most influential people in AI — and appeared in Defensoras de la Tierra (premiered April 2024), a six-chapter Chilean web documentary on women environmental defenders.
